House shoes lie abandoned beneath the tall arches as two women sit alone together, in The Living Room. A blanket enfolds a woman who holds her phone as the other watches an unseen television. Air conditioning beckons and paintings hang above all. Sprawled across the marble flooring, a dog sleeps on the path of his own sorrows. Inspired by her family home, Algwaiz frames and reframes the domestic space of Saudi society.
